Our publication on the effects of aging on Alzheimer’s model of zebrafish is out

Section43

We are happy to announce the publication of our work from our lab at Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen – DZNE and CRTD / DFG Center for Regenerative Therapies at the TU Dresden on how aging affects the manifestation of Alzheimer’s Disease in zebrafish brain. The report will appear this week in the journal Neurogenesis from Taylor & Francis. In this study, we show that zebrafish can be used as a model to understand how aging affects stem cell activity in the brain, and how this cross-talk modulates the regenerative capacity. These results add up on our previous work published last year (http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.celrep.2016.09.075), and once more emphasize zebrafish as an excellent tool for neural stem cell and regeneration research. Congratulations to Prabesh Bhattarai, and to our collaborators Alvin Kuriakose Thomas and Yixin Zhang at B-Cube, TU Dresden.
