It is a pleasure to be involved in the study led by Prof. Dr. Emre Yaksi at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. The study was published in Nature Communications and discovered that failure of glial cells in the brain triggers the epileptic seizures.

DZNE held an Open Day on June 30, 2019. We participated and felt the joy of interacting with public and tell them the amazing work done in DZNE as a whole! Congratulations to all!
14th International Zebrafish Conference
We attended the conference in beautiful Suzhou, China, where more than 1,200 zebrafish researchers gathered together to discuss their latest research. We chaired the "Disease Models and Mechanisms" session and presented our work. https://www.izfs.org/page/2019IZFC

We organized a mini-symposium for the visit of Prof. Dr. Thomas Südhof, Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine, 2013. It was an excellent discussion round. Thanks to all speakers and TU Dresden for the support.
We determined the response of all brain cells to Alzheimer’s in single cell resolution
How fish brain cells react to Alzheimer’s disease Zebrafish, in contrast to humans, have outstanding regenerative capacities: If brain cells are lost due to illness or injury, they will easily regrow from so-called progenitor cells. With sophisticated methods, in the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), we now characterized …
